Accessibility statement

Withya is used one-handed, at 3am, by people who are exhausted. Accessibility is not a separate audience here. It is the ordinary condition of the people we build for.

The standard we aim for

STH Technologies, LLC works toward the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, WCAG 2.2, at level AA, for this website and for the Withya app. Where a platform has its own guidance, we follow that too: Apple's accessibility guidance on iOS and the Android accessibility guidance on Android.

We have not completed an independent third-party audit or a formal conformance evaluation. This statement describes what we aim for and what we have done, not a certified result.

What we do

On this website:

Semantic headings in order, landmarks, and a skip link to the main content.
Every interactive element reachable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline that is not removed.
Text and interface colors chosen to meet the WCAG AA contrast minimums on our own palette.
Touch targets sized for a thumb, at 48 pixels or more.
Text that reflows and stays readable when zoomed or on a small screen, without horizontal scrolling.
Motion driven by CSS and switched off when the browser reports a reduced-motion preference.
No third-party scripts, no advertising, no pop-ups, no autoplaying media and no layout shift after load.
Self-hosted fonts, so text renders without waiting on another network.
Images that carry meaning have text alternatives, and decorative images are hidden from assistive technology.

In the app:

Journal photo stories have clear playback controls and honor the system reduced-motion setting.
Care logging avoids time-limited interactions; an entry can be corrected or removed later.
Wording is plain, in sentence case, and error messages say what to do next.

Known limitations

These are the areas we know need work. Listing them is not an excuse for them.

Content people upload. Photos and videos added by an adult have no text alternative or captions unless that adult writes one. We do not generate descriptions of a child's photos.
The Journal map. The fullscreen trail from day 0 to age 5 is a visual, gestural experience. The same moments are reachable through the ordinary Journal lists, but the map itself is not yet a good experience with a screen reader.
Exported files. The PDF yearbook is laid out for print and reading; its tagging and reading order have not been verified against PDF/UA.
Charts and growth views. Measurement history is presented visually, and the non-visual equivalents are incomplete.
Third-party surfaces. Store checkout, system permission prompts and platform share sheets are controlled by Apple and Google, and their accessibility is theirs.
Verification. Our testing is internal, using keyboard navigation, screen readers and zoom. It is not yet a full audited sweep of every screen and state.

A statement of intent, not a warranty

This page describes what we are trying to do and how far we have got. It is not a warranty, a guarantee of conformance, or a representation that every page, screen or state meets WCAG 2.2 AA today. Nothing here creates a contractual obligation, and nothing here limits any right you have under applicable accessibility law.

Tell us about a barrier

If something in Withya stops you doing what you came to do, tell us. Write to support@withya.app with the page or screen, what you were trying to do, and the device, browser or assistive technology you were using. That last detail is the one that usually lets us reproduce the problem.

We aim to reply within 5 business days, and to tell you either how to work around the problem now or when we expect to fix it. If we cannot fix something quickly, we will say so plainly and offer another way to get what you needed.

How this statement is kept current

STH Technologies, LLC reviews this statement at least once a year, and again whenever we ship a significant change to the website or to the app's main screens. The review date at the top of the page is the date of the last review. Barriers reported to us are logged and folded into that review.
